Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about this exciting opportunity to join us here in Bexley. The Director of Integrated Commissioning role is a key part of our Adult Social Care and Health system — and it’s a role that really has the potential to make a lasting difference to the lives of our residents.

In Bexley, we’ve always believed that great things happen when people work together. Our approach to integration is well established through the integrated commissioning team and the joint system leadership between South East London Integrated Care Board and London Borough of Bexley and our Bexley Care partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. We also have a vibrant voluntary and community sector that plays a huge part in how we support local people every day. This is a place where collaboration genuinely happens — not just in strategy documents, but on the ground and around the table.

As our new Director of Integrated Commissioning, you’ll help us take this even further. You’ll oversee a broad and varied portfolio — from adult social care and health to care homes, market management, Continuing Health Care and children’s health services — with the opportunity to shape how we commission services at both a local and system level. It’s a wide-ranging role, but at its heart is one simple ambition: to make sure that people in Bexley can live well, independently, and with real choice and control over their care.

We’re lucky to have a stable and committed leadership team, passionate about improving outcomes and building on what already works well. There’s a strong sense of shared purpose here — a belief that by joining up health, care and community services, we can make an even bigger impact. We’re also proud of our culture: supportive, forward-thinking, and open to doing things differently where it helps our residents.

Bexley itself is a special place. Sitting on the edge of London, it offers a real mix — urban and rural, established communities and new ones growing fast. Alongside areas of real affluence, we have neighbourhoods where health inequalities persist, and that’s where our focus on prevention and partnership makes such a difference.

This is a great moment to join us. We’re ambitious about what integrated commissioning can achieve — and we’re looking for someone who shares that energy, curiosity and drive to lead change across systems and sectors. You’ll find no shortage of challenge, but also a huge amount of opportunity to shape something meaningful.

If you’d like to have a conversation before applying, Chris Barrow and Anita Denton at Tile Hill would be delighted to hear from you. I hope what you read here gives you a sense of the purpose and passion that runs through our work — and inspires you to consider being part of it.

I look forward to hearing from you.
